Rumors for the film adaption of "50 Shades of Grey" is still underway. Leading the lists for the top contenders to play Christian Grey's love interest is Alexis Bledel, Lucy Hale and Jennifer Lawrence. Tons of other names have been tossed around recently including Elizabeth Olsen, Ashley Benson, Anne Hathaway and Mila Kunis. With so many fans vying for their favorite actresses to get cast, there are some names that get very little buzz but are actually really good choices. After some digging, there are two more names that could very well end up being cast as Anastasia Steele.
Shailene Woodley
The 20-year-old actress has not been getting a lot of "Fifty Shades" casting buzz but when the rumors first began circulating, Woodley was the "it" girl. According to Digital Spy, Woodley was rumored to be James' number one choice for Steele. The website reports that the erotic-trilogy author noticed Woodley after watching her performance in "The Descendants." Woodley played George Clooney's troubled daughter Alexandra King. Her role in the movie landed her with a Golden Globe nomination. She is probably best known for her role in ABC's "Secret Life of the American Teenager."
The young actress was featured on a spotlight by Hollywood Reporter as an up-and-coming Hollywood star. She was also named by People magazine as one of "2012 Most Beautiful at Every Age."
Hopefully there will be more buzz for Woodley. Not only does she have the acting skills to pull off the role of Steele but she has the look and personality as well. The young star has the fresh-faced, innocent look to play Grey's love interest and also seems like she is genuinely a sweet, down-to-earth girl. She could definitely pull off the role of a naïve college graduate who falls for an older man.
Another bonus about Woodley, she has experience playing a character who falls in love with someone older. She is currently filming for the movie "Divergent" where her character, Beatrice Prior, falls in love with someone older.
Ellen Page
The 25-year-old actress might be a little older than Steele's character but she definitely does not look her age. Page also has not been getting a lot of buzz but her name was spotted buried down on a few lists to play the college grad in "50 Shades of Grey." Page has a little edge to her which could help after she warms up to Grey and his sexual fantasies but she can also play the recent-college-grad-who-is-still-a-virgin role. A couple sites did list that they could see Page "transform from the shy, mousy college student" to Grey's leading lady.
Page is best known for her role in "Juno" but has also appeared in more serious roles like "Inception," "Smart People," "To Rome With Love and "X-Men: The Last Stand." She is currently filming the movie "X-Men: Days of Future Past."
