Mariah Carey lacked her powerhouse voice and her memory skills as she kicked off her world tour in Tokyo on Saturday.

The diva songstress failed to hit her legendary high notes and forgot some of her lyrics on opening night of The Elusive Chanteuse Show. Carey's stage equipment didn't do her any favors when the microphone gave out during her performance of "We Belong Together," according to TMZ.

"Even the microphone got some feelings," Carey told the audience before stopping the song completely.

A painful video shows Mariah's backup singers reaching the high notes in her performance of "Always Be My Baby," while the singer complains about a camera off stage.

Fans did not appreciate her less-than-stellar performance. They complained on Twitter and the comments section of the concert videos, but some still said they would see her in concert if she came to their area.

"I was there, and I felt very unconfortable," YouTube user victorb2696 wrote. "I love Mariah, but I'd rather she save what's left of her voice to release more albums even if she has to digitally master her vocals."

Carey's representatives had received a cheerier reaction from her "lambs."

"The comments we have heard from the fans have been great," a rep told the Mirror.

The tour supports her fourteenth studio album "Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse." She performed 23 songs from 11 albums and had four costume changes.

Carey returned to form two nights later in Yokohama, Japan on Oct. 6. She performed a shorter set list, singing only 20 songs, according to fan site Mariah Carey Philippines. Video from fans at the concert show Carey nailed the high notes on her song "Emotions."

Her concert tour continues with stops in South Korea, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and Thailand. She wraps up the tour with seven concerts across Australia between Nov. 2 and Nov. 16.
