The Internet has been buzzing over who will be the next Bond girl and rumor has it Penelope Cruz is the next to co-star opposite Daniel Craig in the next James Bond film.

Cruz would be the oldest Bond girl at 40-years-old when the filming starts next April. Cruz's husband, Javier Bardem, played the villain in the last movie, "Skyfall."

The character of James Bond has one type when it comes to love interests: Beautiful Women. Cruz would fit right in with the likes of Halle Berry and Famke Janssen if she gets the part.

"The producers have tried to get Penelope before, but she has never been available because of other commitments,"  A source told Yahoo UK. "The discussions have been going on for some time and they are working out the contract details now."

Cruz is currently pregnant with her second baby with Bardem, but that would reportedly not stop her from taking on the role.

"She got back into shape fast after the first baby and will no doubt regain her figure quickly this time. She'll be a great Bond girl," the source told Yahoo UK. "Bond girls are always brainy as well as sexy, and that's totally Penelope."

Cruz is not the only one rumored to play the next Bond Girl. According to reports, Zoe Saldana, Kerry Washington, Lucy Liu, Paula Patton, and Kristen Stewart are top contenders for the role.

Craig has signed on to do two more films before ending his career as 007. In an interview with Rolling Stone, the actor admitted to wanting to leave the film franchise.

"I've been trying to get out of this from the very moment I got into it," Craig said. "But they won't let me go, and I've agreed to do a couple more, but let's see how this one does, because business is business and if the (Sh*t) goes down, I've got a contract that somebody will happily wipe their ass with."
