Even with her brand new "X-Factor" gig, Kelly Rowland is not wasting her time and getting some fresh new music out just in time for summer.
According to Billboard, when they sat down with the former Destiny's Child singer, she talked much about her brand new album "Talk a Good Game."
"I decided to speak on what I was doing in my life," Rowland said, "There's so much talking and people are going to be like, 'Is she really talking about this on the album?'"
Rowland even takes some time out to talk about her new single "Dirty Laundry," which addresses the envy she had of her Destiny's Child band mate, Beyonce. "It took me days to record," Rowland said on the process of creating the song, which was co-written with The Dream. "I had to get past being so upset and actually sing the song, not sob through it. I always hope that my music can inspire someone, the same way other artists inspire me. Dream said, 'I want to write you a record so that people will know exactly who you are, underneath it all.'"
Her new album is due out on June 18.
Rowland will be joining "The X-Factor" as a judge along with Mexican Singer Paulina Rubio. The two stars will be filling the seats of judges Britney Spears and L.A. Reid, who left after last season. The duo join Simon Cowell and Demi Lovato at the judges table.
"I am excited to be teaming up with Simon [Cowell] and 'X Factor' again," Rowland said. "I am honored to have this special opportunity to work with new talent."
Rowland has previously appeared on the U.K version of the show. The new season of "X-Factor" is schedule to air in the fall.
