A fan-favorite character from AMC's "The Walking Dead" could be losing a limb. It was previously rumored that Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) would have his hand chopped off in Season 5, but creator Robert Kirkman shut that rumor down months ago.

He didn't say whether that storyline, taken from "The Walking Dead" comics, would be passed on to another character. On Thursday, Sept. 4, Norman Reedus posted a couple photos to his Twitter page hinting that his character, Daryl Dixon, might lose a hand.

In the first picture, Reedus' hand - sporting a random wedding ring - is holding onto the bloody hand of Greg Nicotero, the special effects guru for "The Walking Dead." Reedus captioned the photo "Nicotero n I got hitched."

The second photo shows Nicotero down on one knee putting a ring on Reedus' bloodied finger while the actor covers his mouth feigning surprise. The third picture is the bloody hand on the ground with the caption, "Divorce."

Reedus could be pulling our leg or he just dropped a major Season 5 spoiler. In the comic books, Rick does lose his hand during a fight. Back in June, Kirkman was on "The Writer's Room" and said that it would be nearly impossible to have a main character on the show with a missing hand.

"I like the fact that he lost his hand in the comic," Kirkman said. "To be perfectly honest, the practical difficulties of having a guy who doesn't have a hand is extremely complicated in the comic and would be impossible on the show. Because the comic book doesn't move. For instance, in a recent issue... Rick is standing on top of a truck. It would take him quite a while to climb on top of a truck with one hand, but we just show him standing on a truck. And you're reading that comic, and you're like, 'There he is on that truck.'"

What do you think? Was Norman Reedus teasing or is he going to lose a hand in Season 5 of "The Walking Dead?"
