After months of anticipation, ABC has finally announced that Chris Soules is the 2015 "Bachelor." The 32-year-old Iowa native, known by fans as "farmer Chris," was officially confirmed on "Good Morning America" Wednesday morning.

Soules competed on Andi Dorfman's season of "The Bachelorette" and finished as third runner-up. Nick Viall came in second and Dorfman got engaged to winner Josh Murray. Bachelor Nation easily fell in love with "farmer Chris" during his time on Dorfman's season.

Not only is he handsome but Soules came across as genuine, sweet and romantic. The farmer wrote Dorfman secret love letters and had a plane fly a love message across the sky. On "Good Morning America" Soules said he was "humbled," "flattered," and "grateful" for a second shot at finding love.

"I mean, coming from a small town I never really expected to have this opportunity to be on either show let alone to be the lead on 'The Bachelor,' so it's been awesome," he said.

Soules, who is close to his family, said his parents already know about his new quest for love as "The Bachelor" and added that his mother is a huge fan. The country boy admitted that he fell in love with Dorfman on her season but said he's ready to find Mrs. Soules.

"Absolutely, that's why I am doing it. I believe in the process I believe in what I went through on the previous show and that's why I am doing it," he said on "GMA." "I wouldn't do it if I didn't feel like that was a potential.  I'm looking forward to it."

As far as a strategy, Soules said Dorfman told him to just be himself.

"My focus is going to be to make the girls that are on the show as comfortable as possible because that was my first initial challenge, was opening up to Andi," he said. "I'm going to do my best. I think I'll do well."

The new season of "The Bachelor" will premiere next year.
