Milla Jovovich is holding off filming another Resident Evil, but it's for a good reason.
The 38-year-old actress has announced that she and her husband movie director Paul W.S. Anderson are expecting their second child together. She took to her Facebook page Monday to let fans know that instead of traveling to South Africa to begin production on the film's latest installment she will be preparing for her child's birth.
"This was originally going to be a post to tell you how excited I am about flying to Cape Town, South Africa to begin working on Resident Evil: The Final Chapter," she wrote. "But... My husband Paul and I just discovered that we are expecting another baby!!!"
In her post, Jovovich said production for the film will be postponed until the baby is born.
The actress, who portrays Alice in all Resident Evil installments, explained that she would be unable to film the action movie in her physical condition, especially due to the dangerous stunts and rapid movements.
"So after a lot of discussion, we thought it would be in everyone's best interest to wait till the baby is born before we set out to try and tackle an RE movie," Jovovich added. "Between the stunt work and what will become my ever-expanding belly, we didn't think pregnancy and zombie killing are the best combo! Lol! I imagine the only thing I'll be killing in the near future is an endless supply of cupcakes."
She continued: "In all seriousness though, we want to make the best movie possible and that would be extremely difficult, to say the least, in my present condition. I would like to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who has been working so hard on the movie in South Africa already and we are so looking forward to working with you all next summer. And when we arrive, it will hopefully be with the newest member of our little family! YAY!"
Jovovich and Anderson, the producer of her Resident Evil movie franchise, married in 2009 and also have a six-year-old daughter Ever Gabo Anderson together. The couple met in 2002 on the set of the original Resident Evil.
The actress concluded the letter by thanking her fans for their understanding and their patience as they wait for the sixth and final film.
"Thanks so much for understanding everyone! All the best!" she wrote.
