Has Ariana Grande already found a new love interest following her split from Jai Brooks? Twitter user @ArianaTodayNet posted a photo of the 21-year-old singer going to the movies with rapper Big Sean on Sunday, Aug. 3.
But before those dating rumors really ramp up, a source told Hollywood Life that the two are just friends and they have known each other for years.
"They've been really great friends for the past three years," the source said. "Her mom is like his mom. [the dating rumors are] totally not true."
Sean and Grande previously worked together on her first album, "Yours Truly," and he will be featured on her second upcoming album, "My Everything." Maybe the two friends were simply supporting each other since it's been a rough few months for both of them.
Sean is newly single after breaking off his engagement to fiancé Naya Rivera a few months ago. She recently got married to actor Ryan Dorsey and Grande is dealing with the loss of her grandfather and a breakup.
According to US Weekly, the "Problem" singer and Jai Brooks split after a few months of dating. The two first stepped out as a couple in 2012 but broke it off a year later before rekindling their romance in March.
"It has not been an easy few months," the source told US. "Jai just wasn't as supportive as he could have been."
Shortly after news broke of the break up Grande posted a cryptic message on Instagram, writing:
"You learn a lot about love, life and the people around you during a time of crisis. July was a painful for many reasons but of all the personal loss I suffered last month, the loss of my grandfather, a true gentlemen, was the only one that truly mattered," she wrote. "I thank everybody who was here for me when I needed them as the ones who weren't really broke my heart."
