Meet Carlos Estevez aka Charlie Sheen. The "Two and a Half Men" actor has ditched his stage moniker for his birth name for his upcoming movie "Machete Kills," TMZ reports.
Sheen will be temporarily changing his name to Carlos Estevez for the movie credits, going back to his Latino roots. This will be the first time in his acting career that he won't be Charlie Sheen.
"Machete Kills" is the sequel to Robert Rodriguez's 2010 "Machete" which began as a fake trailer in the 207 movie "Grindhouse."
Sheen's... or Estevez's... character will play the United States president who recruits Machete to battle his way through Mexico to take down an arms dealer who is trying to spread war across the planet by launching a weapon into space.
In the first movie, Machete, an ex-Federale launches a brutal rampage of revenge against his former bosses after he realizes he had been set up.
Joining Sheen in "Machete Kills" is a star-studded cast including Lady Gaga, Amber Heard, Vanessa Hudgens, Sofia Vergara, Jessica Alba, Mel Gibson, Michelle Rodriquez, Cuba Gooding Jr., Antonio Banderas and Danny Trejo as Machete.
Sheen took his stage name after following in the footsteps of his father, Martin Sheen, who was born Ramon Antonio Gerardo Estevez.
According to TMZ, Martin Sheen said he regrets ditching his real name because he thinks it disappointed his father. He created the stage name after deciding to pursue acting.
Sheen's older brother, Emilio Estevez kept his real name when he began pursuing acting.
"Machete Kills" is set to be released September 13.
