Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin Gets Restraining Order Against Obsessed Fan

Robert Plant is not messing around when it comes to stalkers.

The Led Zeppelin singer was granted a restraining order against alleged obsessed fan Alysson Billings. The 40-year-old alleged stalker has been ordered to stay at least 300 yards from Plant for the next three years, TMZ reports.

The "Whole Lotta Love" singer filed a temporary restraining order against the woman who says she thought the two were in a relationship, even though they had never met, earlier this month, according to TMZ. The order only mandated Billings remain 100 yards for the singer, but the permanent order has upped that distance to 300 yards.

Plant says in court documents that the woman has left hotel keys for him, sent flowers and packages and shows up at his concerts all around the world. When Plant began dating folk singer Patty Griffin he notes the messages became threatening. Plant allegedly hired a security assessment team regarding the stalker, who reported that she did in fact pose a threat to his safety, TMZ says.

While celebrity stalkers my seem harmless in terms of action, history shows their actions should not be taken lightly. Obsessed fan Mark David Chapman, who would end up killing John Lennon, seemed like an innocent obsessed fan in the beginning.

Last year, a stalker who spent ten years in a mental institution for following the singer around California and threatening to slit Madonna's throat and cut her "from ear to ear," if she did not marry him, according to AOL Music.

Singer George Michael discovered a female fan living under the floor boards of his house after three days in 2004. Michael didn't discover her until he heard someone calling his name. After police were called, she allegedly punched one of them in the face when they arrived.
