If you thought you knew what Sarah Paulson's "American Horror Story: Freak Show" character looked like, guess again. Paulson said that fans still have no idea what her two-headed character will look like in Season 4 because she lied.

Paulson "revealed" a photo of her character, Bette and Dot, on Twitter on June 12, but confessed to Vulture magazine that the picture is a fake.

The actress explained that the photo was actually a mockup of her Season 2 character, Lana Winters, sporting two heads because executive producer Ryan Murphy wanted to see how it would look.

"Everyone thinks that is the character of Dot and Bette in terms of the way I look - that's just what the company came up with [to] digitally show the two heads to Ryan," Paulson told Vulture. "They used a picture of me as Lana Winters because it was in the period. So that's not what I'll actually look like as Dot and Bette."

Paulson also told Vulture that she's known about her "Freak Show" character since last season but she had to keep quiet.

"I know how much people want to know and how much they actually like to be surprised, and I knew that I could never do anything until Ryan told me that I could and once I got the go-ahead," she said.

It was previously revealed that the FX show will center on a 1950s Florida freak show run by a German, played by Jessica Lange. Murphy told Entertainment Weekly that "Freak Show" will feature a Clown Killer and "[their] version of" a bearded lady.

So far the cast for Season 4 includes Angela Basset, Frances Conroy, Emma Roberts, Gabourey Sidibe, Denis O'Hare, Kathy Bates and Michael Chiklis. This will be Lange's last season on "American Horror Story."

"American Horror Story: Freak Show" will premiere in the fall.
