Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger reportedly already has a new love interest just three months after the suicide of his longtime girlfriend L'Wren Scott. The 70-year-old rocker was spotted with a mystery brunette on a hotel balcony a few weeks ago and now the woman has been identified as 27-year-old Melanie Hamrick, the New York Daily News reports.
Scott's sister, Jane Shane, is disgusted that Jagger moved on so quickly and told British tabloid, Daily Mirror, that her sister "deserves more respect." According to the newspaper, Jagger met the young woman a few weeks before Scott's death.
"The more I think about it, the angrier it makes me. My sister deserves more respect," Shane told the Daily Mirror. "I now believe that he was a bigger part of her troubles than we knew about."
Reportedly the rocker and Hamrick, a New York-based ballet dancer, met in Tokyo when the Rolling Stones were performing there at the end of February. According to the newspaper, a rep for Jagger said the rocker and Hamrick didn't hook up until after Scott's death in March.
"My sister deserved so much more than that. It's a terrible thing for Mick to have done. It's sad. His life goes on as if nothing happened. He's still out with women, but a huge part of our family is missing," Shane told the British newspaper.
Shane said she wasn't surprised that Jagger was able to move on so quickly and she was "just really glad that L'Wren doesn't have to put up with him anymore."
"She had accomplished so much without him. She was amazing in so many people's eyes. He just needs to quit dragging her name through his crap!" she added.
Following the death of the 49-year-old fashion designer, the Rolling Stones halted their world tour. The group resumed touring at the end of May. Shortly after the death, Jagger released a statement and said that he was "shocked and devastated" over the loss.
Jagger and Scott had been together 13 years, even though some rumors claim that the two had split before her death.
"We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life four ourselves," Jagger said in a statement. "Her talent was much admired, not least, by me."
Scott's funeral was held on Mar. 25 at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.
