Twitter is getting into the spirit of the FIFA World Cup 2014 as it extends its new feature "World Cup Timelines" to its iOS mobile app.

As the first day of the FIFA World Cup kicked off Thursday where Brazil gained a glorious victory against Croatia with 3-1 on the scoreboard, football fans are gearing up to support their respective countries around the world. While the world is engaged in the football talks, major tech companies are taking advantage of the craze to boost its services. Twitter has made a new improvement to its service so fans can find all the information about the matches in one place.

Just days after announcing new features, World Cup Timelines and Hashflags, for its users, the social network has updated its iOS app with the new changes. The Twitter app version 6.7.1 on iOS allows users to see relevant tweets of all the games during the FIFA World Cup season.

"The World Cup Timeline is where all the action happens. In addition to Tweets from your network, you will see relevant Tweets from teams, players, coaches, press, venues, and celebs," Twitter said in the app description page in the 'what's new' section. "Are you watching the match? Follow it on Twitter and take a peek behind the scenes. See Tweets about the match from teams, players, coaches, press, venues, and celebs from inside and outside the stadium."

With the World Cup Timelines on iPhones, users can stay up to date with the latest goals, saves, fouls and even opt to view tweets with photos and videos or just photos. The social network also plans to roll out updated web profiles for each team in the next few days. These profiles will show a list of their players on Twitter and match scorecards.

Twitter has also re-introduced Hashflags so fans can insert their teams' flags in the tweet. To get the flag for Brazil, users must type #BRA and #GER for Germany or #ESP for Spain. Enter the hashtag followed by the first three-letter country code in the tweet to get the flags of the participating teams in the World Cup. The feature hasn't been made available for mobile users yet.

Twitter is available for users around the world on iOS and Android for free.
