Scout Willis was spotted walking around New York City completely topless to protest Instagram's nude photo policy, TMZ reports. The 22-year-old daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis used the Twitter hashtag #FreeTheNipple to share photos and status updates about her outrage over Instagram banning photos that show female nudity.
"Legal in NYC but not on @instagram," she captioned one photo of herself topless, looking at flowers.
On another photo of her walking down a Manhattan street, she wrote, "What @instagram won't let you see." Willis then pointed out the fact that Instagram has allowed photos from professional poker player Dan Bilzerian's infamous account to remain online.
Bilzerian doesn't necessarily post photos of naked women but he does have some very risqué pictures including one of him on a boat surrounded by half-naked girls. Some of the ladies are topless with pasties covering their nipples.
According to the Daily Mail, Willis' protest began after the photo sharing site suspended her account for posting photos that violated their anti-nudity guidelines.
"@instagram there is no way 2 contact you directly, I would really appreciate response b/c you took a lot of memories from me b/c u h8 nips," she previously wrote.
"Can I please just have all my photos back??? I won't even have an account anymore I just want photos!!" Willis added.
In another tweet, Willis announced that she was boycotting the site but wanted to create another Instagram account where she would "post lots of beautiful photos of naked women... Tasteful, non aggressive, whomever wants to see can."
This comes after Rihanna's account was deleted for posting photos that violated Instagram policy. The "Stay" singer posted a shot from her Lui magazine shoot, where she was seen lying back sipping a drink with her nipple exposed.
According to TMZ, Instagram removed the photo and then sent the singer an email telling her to stop posting semi-nude pictures. Rihanna posted the banned photo on Twitter but her Instagram account was still deleted.
