A guidance counselor at a Massachusetts school is facing charges for having sex with a 14-year-old student, according to ABC News.
Brian McBride, an employee at North Attleboro Middle School, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to several charges including statutory rape during arraignment.
Authorities claim McBride, a 31-year-old married father of one, had sex with the teenager at school, in his car, and at his home over the course of several months last year.
He allegedly told police that his marriage was on the rocks and he loved the girl, who was his student in chorus class. He also gave her private singing lessons at his home.
Last weekend, the girl's parents went to police. During Tuesday's arraignment, her father had to be taken out of the courtroom following an outburst, ABC News said.
"Look at me you piece of (expletive). Look at me. Look at me!" the father screamed, according to The Sun Chronicle.
In addition, he also allegedly sent sexually graphic photos and text messages to another 14-year-old female student.
McBride worked as a music teacher at the middle school from 2007 until this year, where he filled a guidance counselor vacany. Following the allegations, the school district fired him.
Superintendent Suzan Cullen issued a statement after learning about the situation and firing McBride.
"The district's administration is working very closely with the police as they conduct their investigation of this very serious matter. In the meantime, the teacher in question has been notified of his termination. We will not tolerate egregious acts against innocent children," Cullen said.
A lawyer for McBride said his client was "well respected in the community up until these allegations."
He is being held on $30,000 bail.
