Peaches Geldof Death Update: Home Burglarized Twice Following Socialite’s Suspected Heroin Overdose

Peaches Geldof's home has been burglarized twice following her death in April. Police told The Sun (via the Daily News) that burglars broke into the Kent, England home one week after Geldof was found dead and then again on Friday, May 9.

The house has been vacant ever since the 25-year-old TV presenter was found dead from a suspected heroin overdose on Apr. 7. Geldof's husband, Tom Cohen, and two small children have been staying with Cohen's parents.

Police told the British newspaper that robbers took off with a red mobile lawnmower during the first break-in. Following the robbery police installed security cameras but the burglars came back.

A source told The Sun that Geldof's father, Bob, was planning on fixing the lawnmower in his daughter's honor. Before Geldof died, her family posed on the lawnmower for a photo.

"I know a mobile lawnmower was taken. Bob wanted to keep it for sentimental reasons, but it was broken so he asked someone to do it up," a neighbor told The Sun. "I spoke to the mechanic but he said in the end they told him he couldn't repair it as it had been stolen. It's shocking to think someone would do that so soon after Peaches died."

Police said the second time the burglars came back they broke the newly installed surveillance cameras.

"The house has been empty ever since Peaches died. The vultures who broke in clearly knew that and are preying on the bereaved and her family," a source told the British newspaper. "It's a wicked thing to do given what Tom is going through at this time."

"Whoever was responsible knew full well that there were cameras at the house and deliberately broke them before getting in," the source said.

According to The Sun, the robbers left emptied handed the second time. After breaking the cameras, they set off an alarm trying to get inside the house. The burglars scattered before police could arrive.
