Steven Miller, the head of the IRS until his resignation earlier this week, is appearing before the House Ways and Means Committee today in order to address the scandal involving the IRS giving improper amounts of scrutiny to conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status.
Also appearing will be the Treasury Department's Inspector General Russell George.
The committee will be seeking answers relating to who knew about the scandal as it was ongoing and who was responsible for providing the extra scrutiny.
Committee Chairman Dave Camp, R-Mich., stated that the committee will "get to the bottom of this practice and ensure it never takes place again."
Shortly before going on a fifteen minutes recess Rep. Dave Reichert, R-Wash., became quite animated while accusing Miller of not answering any questions and being combative.
A live stream of the hearing can be seen on C-SPAN.
