Cisco Systems Inc. recently announced its partnership with Jive Software to improve communication and collaboration which will increase productivity and improve customer service.
The partnership will allow Jive to access Cisco's technologies such as the instant messaging service Jabber and web conferencing service WebEx. Cisco, on the other hand, will be able to sell the solutions made by Jive that combines collaboration, community and social features. Cisco will also venture in product engineering to let all parties including Jive to produce more innovations and come up with more effective business solutions.
"We still live in a business world where we have a separation of communications activities and the collaboration activities to accomplish work," Ph.D and Vice President of Cisco's Cloud Collaboration Technology Group, Jens Meggers said in a press release. "Now, with Cisco + Jive, you have two first-class offerings coming together to provide a powerful integrated experience."
Furthermore, this partnership will present solutions for enterprises around the world that need improved communications the most. Businesses can now install real-time communications with their partners from any part of the world and ensure other communication practices such as blogs, online discussions, video conferences, instant messages and online groups are maintained.
The technology of this partnership was tested by Thomson Reuters - a company that employs 60,000. Through Jive and Cisco, employees of the company can now invite people to join their network and launch meetings through Jive's platform. Employees can also initiate one-on-one chats with each other as long as they are within the same Jive network. Content syncing across different platforms is also supported.
