A Starbucks barista in Louisiana frightened a Catholic teacher by drawing satanic symbols with caramel syrup on top of her drinks.
Megan Pinion was at a Starbucks outlet at the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge on Sunday when she received the demonic drinks, according to the New York Daily News. One had a pentagram resting on top of white foam, a symbol associated with devil worship. The other had the number 666, which is said to be the mark of Satan.
Pinion posted the picture on Facebook expressing her outrage over the barista's prank.
"I unfortunately can't give the young man's name who served it, because I was so appalled that I could not bring myself to look at him," Pinion wrote, according to the Daily News.
"I am in no way judging his beliefs or dis-meriting his beautiful artwork, I am however judging his lack of professionalism and respect for others," Pinion wrote.
Starbucks has since apologized to Pinion for the barista's actions.
"We reached out to her through social media and apologized," spokesman Tom Kuhn told The Advertiser, according to CBS News.
The company is "taking the complaint seriously," the spokesman added. "We're not sure who served her or what kind of beverage it was. It looks kind of caramel-ish in the photos."
There are no reports as to whether or not the barista still works at Starbucks.
"This obviously is not the type of experience we want to provide any of our customers," Kuhn told the Daily Advertiser, according to CBS News. "[It] is not representative of the customer services our partners provide to millions of customers every day."
Pinion also wrote that if she had shown a Christian work of art to atheist students, she would be "sued in a heartbeat," according to the Daily News. Pinion said she had "enough common sense" to follow ethics.
"Perhaps that could be suggested to that particular location," the teacher wrote.
