Long Island Student Is Accepted Into All Eight Ivy League Schools, And Some

Kwasi Enin, a 17-year-old from Long Island, applied to all eight ivy league schools and got into every single one, and some, according to the New York Daily News.

Enin attends William Floyd High School and said he never thought he'd land slots in the class of 2018 at Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton, the University of Pennsylvania and Yale, the Daily News reported.

Princeton accepted him in December and he also gained acceptance to Duke University, Stony Brook University, SUNY Geneseo and Binghamton University, according to the Daily News.

Beside having and SAT score of 2,250 out of 2,400, which places him in the 99th percentile for all students taking the exam, he has scored high on many Advanced Placement exams and is an athlete, according to the Daily News.

Enin hasn't decided which university he'll attend, but said he was interested in attending Yale in New Haven, Connecticut, depending on the financial aid package offered, according to the Daily News.

Enin said he thought he'd just give it the old college try and "maybe two or three of them" would bite, the Daily News reported. The eight Ivy League colleges are among the nation's most selective institutions of higher education.

Harvard, the one school Enin believed he had no chance at being accepted to, has a 5.9 percent acceptance rate, the lowest in the country, according to the Daily News.

"It has to be the one to reject me," Enin said, the Daily News reported. "They're Harvard.

He began hearing from each of the schools on March 27, the day schools post who has been admitted, the Daily News reported.

Ebenezer Enin, Kwasi's father, a nurse, said Kwasi, who also wants to study medicine, was raised, along with his sister, to strive for excellence, according to the Daily News.

"We are very proud of him," Enin's father said, the Daily News reported. "He's an amazing kid. He's very humble. He's been trained to be a high achiever right from when he was a kid. We have been encouraging him to be an all-around student. So far, he has proved himself."
