Trey Songz Gay Rumors: R&B Singer Slams Pranksters for Fake ‘I’m Gay’ Tweet

Trey Songz is not gay. The 29-year-old R&B singer was the latest victim gay rumors after a fake tweet allegedly outed him out as a gay man. The tweet was Photoshopped to look like it came from the singer's Twitter account and read: "I think it's time to finally tell my fans. All games and jokes aside... I'm gay."

The Twitter post quickly started making its way around the Internet but it turns out it was only a cruel joke. Songz took to Twitter on Mar. 26 to deny the rumor and slam whoever was responsible.

"The things you people craft up with hatred in your hearts. The things people believe without question, or validity, all baffles me," the singer tweeted.

"Photoshop and a tweet is all people need to believe, any and everything. I feel bad for the impressionable, no minds of their own," he continued.

"If I'm gay then Tupac bringing me a ounce for this session wit Biggie tomorrow. No weapon. #LOVE."

Recently NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon was also the victim of a gay rumor hoax after a satirical website published a bogus story claiming he was in a romantic relationship with Stephen Rhodes, who is openly gay.

The site Empire Sports ran a story titled, "Jeff Gordon and Stephen Rhodes Confirm Homosexual Relationship; NASCAR Fans Outraged" on Monday, Mar. 24. The fake news story quickly went viral. In the article it said that Gordon "joins a list of male athletes who are new to the openly gay sports world," after he allegedly admitted to his romance with Rhodes.

"We are unable to get a comment from Gordon or Rhodes on this news of their relationship, but it is 100 percent confirmed by both," the article read. "Both men have been seen around together since they came out just recently. The couple has been seen hand in hand, but not much else in the public eye."

Gordon is happily married to his wife of eight years, Ingrid Vandebosch.
