Pregnant Houston Woman Killed at Strip Club: Police Hunt for Suspects in Death of Maria Lucrecia

A pregnant woman working at a strip club in southwest Houston was killed on Saturday, after suspects entered the venue and beat her to death.

According to Houston police officers who spoke with local station KHOU this past weekend, it's still unclear who killed 27-year-old Maria Lucrecia, who worked as a cleaning lady for the Eclipse Gentleman's Club.

Lucrecia was found at around 5:25 p.m. at the club, located on South Gessner near Bellaire Blvd.

An initial investigation showed the Houston resident died from blunt force head trauma, according to ABC's local station in the Texas city, KTRK. Officials pronounced her dead on-site. She was five months pregnant.

The Houston Police Department doesn't have any witnesses or suspects at this time, but officials believe the robber/robbers managed to get into the club, killed Lucrecia, and took money from a register on the premises.

According to police spokesperson John Cannon who spoke with KHOU, the thief/thieves made off with at least one thousand dollars from the register.

Law enforcement officials said the club was closed when the woman was inside cleaning.

Lucrecia's husband reportedly alerted a manager when he couldn't reach his wife on the telephone. The 27-year-old woman's boss then called the police, the Associated Press reported.

Anyone with information on the suspects or incident itself are asked to call Crime Stoppers of Houston at (713) 222-TIPS (8477).

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for any leading information, according to KTRK.
