Emma Rigdon, 20, has been charged with two counts of child abuse, according to jail records.

A Missouri mom accused of recording herself choking her infant son said doing so gave her an "adrenaline rush," according to police.

Emma Rigdon, 20, has been charged with two counts of child abuse, according to jail records.

It's unclear if she entered a plea to the charges. Her attorney, Charles Barberio, did not immediately respond to Headlines & Global News' request for comment.

Rigdon was staying at a shelter in St. Louis, Missouri, when she allegedly filmed herself physically assaulting her 6-month-old boy, KFVS-TV, KTVI-TV, and the River Front Times reported, citing the probable cause statement.

Earlier this month, Rigdon allegedly pinched, slapped and covered her baby's nose and mouth with her hand, causing him to cry and flail, uncontrollably. She also placed a blanket over his head prompting the infant to grab at it "vigorously," police said. Rigdon captured footage of the alleged abuse on her cell phone and sent it to a friend.

"IDK when I do that, I feel happy like an adrenaline rush," she allegedly texted the recipient, according to the outlets. "I be stopping right before he dies. Last time, he was blue."

Rigdon allegedly added, "I really wanna kill him but I don't want to go to jail so. It's unfortunate. He's just gonna have to pay for his existence."

Rigdon was denied bond. Her next scheduled court date is May 21.
