This news comes as a shock as it comes just before the New Hampshire Republican Primary and, thus dealing a heavy blow to former UN ambassador Nikki Haley.

A source familiar with Scott's plan confirmed the decision to the Associated Press on Friday. However, they only spoke with the press on the condition that they remain anonymous. The news of the endorsement was first picked up by The New York Times newspaper. Last May Scott began forging his plan to challenge the former President but his efforts fell short after the following six months after his bid as he ran into some trouble gaining footing in the polls despite strong investments from high-profile donors such as Goldman Sachs and Capital Group.

As for the former President has been running along the campaign trail he's been spotted with many former rivals who have gone on to endorse him. These rivals include North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum and the biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramsey. There have also been speculations that Scott might be a running mate for the former President.  An interesting take on this comes from Olivia Perez-Cubas "Interesting that Trump's lining up with all the Washington insiders when he claimed he wanted to drain the swamp. But the fellas are gonna do what the fellas are gonna do." Cubas currently works with Bullpen Strategy Group. A firm that is an "insights-focused public affairs advocacy and strategic advisory firm specializing in analysis, communications strategy, and project management to help clients solve problems, grow, and manage risk."

However, it is still unclear how or if Trump's ongoing saga in the courts will play a role in his campaign. It was reported that the former President might be forced to $370 million in his ongoing fraud case in New York. In addition, the former President's name has been removed from Colorado  ballots.
