A pair of alleged "alien mummies" that were discovered in a Peruvian airport last October have been revealed to be, unsurprisingly, fake extraterrestrial beings.

A shipment of peculiar figurines was discovered in the offices of courier DHL at the Lima airport. These unique items resembled mummified bodies adorned in traditional Andean clothing.

Peruvian archaeologist Flavio Estrada, member of the Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences Institute, shows what has been believed to be remains of an extraterrestrial alien during a press conference where forensic experts rule out the existence of alleged extraterrestrial mummies or remains of mummies found in the south of the country, during a report presented to the press in Lima on January 12, 2024. The Ministry of Culture described as fraud the story of the supposed extraterrestrial origin of the Nazca mummies that the Mexican Congress exhibited as if they were aliens, after presenting on Friday a forensic report from the prosecution that closes a three-month investigation.

Last year, the discovery of two unusual figures in South America ignited excitement among those fascinated by the mysteries of the the universe. This event not only brought joy to believers but also caught the attention of skeptics.

In September, the emergence of images depicting the small extraterrestrial companions caused a wave of ET hysteria. Mexican journalist José Jaime Maussan added fuel to the fire when he addressed the nation's Congress, stating that these beings were not part of our terrestrial evolution.

Months of congressional hearings were filled with researchers making a series of astonishing claims. One of the most notable claims was their inability to identify 30% of the hybrid being's DNA. These revelations led Maussan to assert that the supposedly fossilized lifeforms would have a profound impact on history, suggesting that they were intelligent beings who coexisted with us.

The intriguing saga commenced on September 12, when Mexico made headlines by declaring its inaugural congressional hearing on unidentified flying objects. The announcement sparked intense speculation, which only grew when the initial images surfaced, claiming to show the visage of an otherworldly creature.

Surprised onlookers were met with the sight of a pale, ashen face emerging from a somber wooden coffin where the mysterious "extraterrestrial" had been placed.

The figure had distinctive features, with narrow eyes, a unique nose, and a small mouth. Its head and neck resembled that of Steven Spielberg's ET, while its body was thin and delicate, with slender limbs and three fingers on each hand. There were a pair of them.

Many initially doubted the accuracy of the figures, but soon after the surprising unveiling, a number of compelling testimonies emerged to support the credibility of the specimens. A Mexican journalist and dedicated follower of UFO phenomena, Maussan presented the testimonies, asserting that the small, humanoid bodies displayed before Congress were not of terrestrial origin.

According to Maussan, the bodies were discovered in Peru near the ancient Nazca Lines in 2017. Shortly after, Jose de Jesus Zalce Benitez, the Director of the Scientific Institute for Health of the Mexican navy, announced that a series of tests had been conducted on the remains, including X-rays, 3-D reconstruction, and DNA analysis.

"These bodies have no relation to human beings," he stated confidently.

Many individuals were prompted to reconsider their preconceived notions due to the apparent official stamp of authenticity. This reconsideration may have been further supported by a recent decrease in the negative perception historically linked to reporting UFOs.

A former US Navy pilot, Ryan Graves, testified before Mexico's Congress, sharing his experiences with unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs). Graves, a prominent advocate for research in this field, has previously spoken at US Congressional hearings about his encounters with unidentified craft during his time in service.

There has been significant interest in the Pentagon's investigation into sightings reported by military aviators in recent years. Additionally, NASA has made an intriguing announcement about the formation of a new panel dedicated to studying UFOs, marking a unique development for the space agency.

Two months after Maussan's controversial claims before Congress, Mexico held another hearing on November 7 which added more complexity to the ongoing saga. During the hearing, Maussan introduced a group of researchers who conducted a DNA analysis on the figures.

They asserted that a significant portion, approximately 30%, of the DNA found in the bodies did not match any known species. Furthermore, they confidently stated that each figure possessed its own skeletal structure, leaving no room for doubt about their authenticity.

According to Maussan, the two bodies exhibited strong bones, lacked teeth, and contained implants made of rare elements such as cadmium and osmium, which are not commonly found on Earth. A group of medical experts later brought in a letter signed by 11 researchers from San Luis Gonzaga National University in Ica, Peru, stating the same.

A university anthropologist named Roger Zuniga stated that there was no human involvement in the creation of these beings, both physically and biologically. The scientists' letter clarified that the team was not suggesting the bodies were of extraterrestrial origin. However, they were unable to determine the source of the figures.

However, Argentine surgeon Celestino Adolfo Piotto intensified speculation by stating that, based on his analysis of test results and images of the bodies, he believed these figures to be an advanced form of present-day humans, referring to them as "our descendants."

These allegations surfaced following the confiscation of two remarkably similar figures by Peruvian customs officials. The figures were discovered in a shipment bound for an undisclosed recipient in Mexico, further deepening the enigma surrounding their source and ownership.

On January 12, authorities in Lima held a press conference where scientists presented evidence that challenged the beliefs of ET enthusiasts. According to lead forensic expert Flavio Estrada, the two figures seized by customs authorities in October do not belong to any extraterrestrial, intraterrestrial, new species, or hybrids.

Estrada detailed the findings of his team of experts from the Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences Institute. They conducted a thorough analysis of the figures and determined that they were constructed using a combination of paper, glue, and metal. The figures were assembled on a framework made up of both human and animal bones.

However, they seemed to be nearly identical in terms of size, appearance, and weight. Per Daily Mail, Estrada expressed strong disapproval of what he referred to as "pseudo-science" from Maussan and his researchers, alleging that they were attempting to promote unsupported claims.

In 2015, a journalist covered the finding of what was initially believed to be an alien life form, but was later identified as the remains of a human child. Although the existence of extraterrestrial life is a possibility, it appears likely that the individuals in Mexico's Congress who resemble little grey figures are the result of human deception.
