From L) US actors Ethan Hawke and Ashley Johnson pose with director Richard Linklater during a photocall for their film 'Fast Food Nation' at the 59th edition of the International Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, southern France, 19 May 2006. "Fast Food Nation", a sometimes stomach-churning movie criticising the junk food industry and consumerism in the United States, has found a sympathetic audience at its Cannes film festival screenings.

On Tuesday, 'The Last of Us' star Ashley Johnson, 40, and six other women accused Brian Wayne Foster, a former critical employee, of domestic violence, intentional infliction of mental distress, sexual battery and assault, and stalking.

Johnson and other women processed and filed a civil complaint against Foster, her ex-boyfriend, in Los Angeles.

Ashley Johnson, Others File Lawsuit Against Ex-Boyfriend

The copies of the lawsuit's complaints, which differ from woman to woman, were revealed to process the investigation. Allegations against Foster include assault, gender abuse, domestic violence, and civil rights crimes. According to the court document, Foster's actions caused Johnson to believe he intended to murder her.

The seven victims are California residents, including Johnson's sister, Haylie Langseth. Johnson claims in the lawsuit that the intoxicated Foster harassed and groped her during a family gathering in front of her kids.

Foster was also connected to a controversy involving physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, wherein several fabrications, threats, intimidation, and manipulation were done to control the victims.

Johnson allegedly said Foster threatened to extort her for $150,000, claiming he would expose "personal information," in an interview with AVClub.

The lawsuit also includes allegations of verbal abuse and groping from several other women, including subordinates at Critical Role, who claim that Foster exploited his position at the company to seek access to women. These allegations are in addition to those made by Johnson and her sister.

Johnson Traumatized After Breakup With Foster

The Los Angeles Police Department assisted Johnson when she requested assistance in May, and they looked into her allegations.

Foster started acting strangely after the couple split in March 2023, carrying a sizable black duffel bag, an ammo case containing two airsoft pistols altered to look like real ones, and a garotte, a device for strangling people.

According to the lawsuit, Foster seized control of Johnson's home security cameras and microphones to monitor her and track her comings and goings after Foster was forced to leave Johnson's house by the police due to an Emergency Protective Order.

"After years of suffering Foster's abuse and being pushed towards an emotional breakdown as a result, Plaintiffs have had enough," the suit stated.

To shield others from suffering the same fate as Foster's victims, plaintiffs attempt to break the silence. No woman should have to endure the abuse and fear that Foster inflicted upon the Plaintiffs and other women.

Ashley Johnson remained brave and continued the lawsuit with the other women whom Foster had sexually abused. As the investigation continues, other victims are now speaking up against Foster.

The collaboration of the women to take down Foster is an example of women's empowerment and advocacy against rape and sexual abuse. Until now, Johnson is still recovering from her trauma and issues with Foster.
