Cocco Candy Recalls Its Rolling Candy Products Ahead of Halloween
(Photo: CPSC/Entrepreneur) The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall for Cocco Candy’s Rolling Candy products after the death of a 7-year-old girl last April.

Over 146,000 units of Cocco Candy's Rolling Candy have been recalled a few weeks before Halloween.

According to Entrepreneur, the recall was announced by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) after a seven-year-old girl died last April. The CPSC also said that the product's rolling ball attached to the candy could disconnect and become a choking hazard.

"Consumers should stop using the recalled rolling candy immediately, take it away from children, and contact KGR Distribution Corp. for a refund," it warned in its advisory.

The affected candy was manufactured in Turkey and sold between May 2022 and March 2023 in the US.

The candy comes in three flavors: Sour Strawberry, Sour Tutti Frutti, and Sour Cola.

A Second Candy Recall

The Cocco Candy recall followed last month's recall of Paqui's Carolina Reaper chili powder after a Massachusetts teenager died while attempting to complete the brand's "one chip challenge," where consumers were encouraged to consume the spicy chip and not eat or drink anything else as long as possible.

The teenager fainted upon consuming the chip, was hospitalized, and died later that day.
