An international flight from Ecuador to Florida that encountered sudden severe turbulence on Monday morning resulted in the hospitalization of seven passengers and one crew member, according to JetBlue officials.

When JetBlue Flight 1256 was getting close to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, the aircraft suddenly encountered some turbulence, which caused the plane to shake, as per Fox News.

The airline immediately notified authorities of the situation, which allowed them to ensure that the plane made a safe landing and was greeted by medical staff upon arrival. While the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) acknowledged its plan to conduct an investigation into the aircraft, the Fort Lauderdale airport directed any concerns surrounding the event to the airline, as per the NY Post.
