Amber Holcomb Eliminated From 'American Idol', Nicki Minaj Calls Mariah Carey A 'Bitter' and 'Insecure" Woman

Contestant Amber Holcomb was eliminated this week in popular talent show "American Idol" amid a lot of chaos, with Nicki Minaj calling Mariah Carey a "bitter" and "insecure" woman, and Paris Hilton adding fuel to the fire.

While the female judges of American Idol continue their battle of words, the top four contestants battled it out to stay in the competition. Holcomb was sent home at the end of the show, with Kree Harrison, Angie Miller and Candice Glover left to fight for a position in the top two next week. Holcomb was extremely disappointed with the results, as she was elimiated in spite of giving a "stellar" perormance the previous night that got her a standing ovation from the judges and the crowd.

Holcomb broke down in tears after her elimination and remained emotional while speaking to reporters after the show. "That sucks knowing you're not singing for your save and you still have to sing," she told Us Weekly of trying to sing her goodbye song, but not being able to hold back the tears. "The 'tribute' video. That gets me every [time] and seeing me was like, oh crap," she explained, getting emotional again. "Sorry."

It's no secret that American Idol judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey are not the best of friends. The show has witnessed many subtle but sarcastic comments passed live between the two celebrities, with the last episode of the talent show giving audiences a glimpse of fireworks that have been waiting to explode for a while now.

After a contestant's performance, Carey threw a punch in Minaj's direction, saying: "Again, back to the Billboard Hot 100, No. 1 song, which you just performed -- which is difficult to get; not everybody has that."

Minaj is not the kind to sit quietly and took some shots back at Carey on the show, including one where she pointed a cotton swab at Carey, asking her to clean out her ears.

Minaj also took the raging war offstage and continued it on Twitter with a series of Tweets that suggested for critics to ask themselves "Why a woman SO successful at her age, is still so INSECURE, and bitter."

In one of her Tweets, Minaj also mentioned something about "Idol" producers looking to replace Carey with pop singing sensation Jennifer Lopez for the next season.

"All dem #1s but JLo phone ringin? Lol. I guess having a personality, being a secure woman, and giving genuine critique still trumps that."

A while later, Paris Hilton joined the flurry of Tweets floating around and Tweeted, "Mariah Carey BURNS Nicki Minaj on 'Idol'."

To this Minaj replied, "Bwaha! Burn? Shes sad i tied her record for Hot 100 entries in only 3 years of being in the game. Yep, a black female rapper @perezhilton."

"What u SHOULD be doing (wit your messy [expletive]) is asking why a woman SO successful at her age, is still so INSECURE, and bitter @perezhilton," she continued in another Tweet.
