The brutal murder of Jared Bridegan in broad daylight in front of his toddler has been exacerbated by discoveries in the 18 months following his death.

Shanna Gardner, the ex-wife of slain Microsoft executive Jared Bridegan, has been indicted for first-degree murder in what Florida prosecutors are describing as a "cold, calculated, and premeditated murder."

The indictment includes charges of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and child abuse. The case involves the killing of Bridegan, a father of four, who was shot and killed in a targeted ambush on a Jacksonville Beach street last year, according to ABC News.

Murder of Microsoft Executive

The grand jury's indictment signifies a significant development in the case, as Gardner becomes the third person charged in connection with the homicide. Her current husband, Mario Fernandez Saldana, was indicted five months ago on multiple charges, including first-degree murder.

Henry Tenon, Fernandez Saldana's former tenant, was arrested earlier this year and is accused of pulling the trigger in the fatal shooting. Shanna Gardner's alleged involvement in the murder has brought to light the complexity of the case.

State Attorney Melissa Nelson, who is leading the prosecution, emphasized Gardner's central and key role in the "cold, calculated, and premeditated murder of Jared Bridegan." The case has revealed a web of connections and relationships that contributed to the tragic event.

The incident unfolded in February 2022 when Bridegan, accompanied by his then-2-year-old daughter, encountered a tire blocking his path while driving in Jacksonville Beach.

Upon stepping out of his car, he was ambushed and fatally shot. The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Henry Tenon, who has since pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and is cooperating with prosecutors.

Mario Fernandez Saldana, Gardner's current husband, was charged with first-degree murder in March for his alleged involvement in Bridegan's death. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in his case. The prosecution has asserted that the tenant-landlord relationship between Tenon and Bridegan is a significant link in the case, as per Daily Mail.

Shanna Gardner's Alleged Involvement in Murder Plot

Shanna Gardner's indictment further complicates the narrative, shedding light on her alleged role in the murder plot. Gardner's denial of involvement during a television interview last year contrasts with the charges brought against her. Her attorney declined to comment on the matter.

As the legal process continues, the families involved are grappling with the repercussions. Gardner's parents expressed their sadness over the situation, emphasizing their commitment to supporting their daughter and grandchildren during this challenging time. The Microsoft exec's family requested privacy as the legal proceedings unfold.

The unfolding case serves as a reminder of the intricate layers of human relationships and the potential for unexpected and tragic outcomes. As the legal process seeks to uncover the truth behind Bridegan's murder, the complexities of the case underscore the importance of thorough investigation, due process, and justice for the victims and their families, Independent reported.
