BTS member Kim Taehyung, also known as V, has become Cartier's newest ambassador amid rumors that he could have a solo debut later this year.

BTS member Kim Taehyung, also known as V, has officially been announced as Cartier's newest ambassador, making stars in a campaign for the brand's Panther de Cartier line.

The announcement comes amid rumors that the KPOP star's management is working on a solo debut in the third quarter of this year. In a statement, Cartier SVP Chief MKG Officer Arnaud Carrez said that the choice naturally fell to V.

She added that the KPOP star has the "look and strength of character" and a personality whose choices were, Carrez argued, guided by his creativity as a dancer, musician, and art lover, as per Fashionista.

V debuted as Cartier's newest ambassador in a photo that featured the musician wearing some of the brand's feline fashions. Additionally, as part of the roll-out, the magazine described a new photo of the KPOP star where he could be seen wearing a red suit jacket with a "sculptural diamond ring and tete-a-tete bracelet."

The development comes as BTS is on pause to allow all its members to focus on their solo projects and give them time to complete South Korea's mandatory military service. On top of partnering with Cartier, V has also signed with fashion brand Celine.

Earlier this year, the musician's bandmate, Jimin, was named an ambassador for fellow luxury jeweler Tiffany & Co., according to Billboard.

BTS Members' Careers

BTS is a KPOP group that is one of the most successful in the industry, and even amid its hiatus, it continues to deliver new music this year. So far, the band has released several singles, the most recent of which is "Take Two," which made its way to the prestigious Hot 100 chart a few weeks back.

Despite the stars' busy schedule, they are expected to group back together to submit their recent single for Grammy consideration. If all goes well, the KPOP group will again etch their names in Grammy history.

The new single has become a serious contender for a Best Pop Duo/Group Performance Grammy nomination. But while it is popular, it is not a sure thing for a nod, as 2023 is an unusual year for collaborations and major hits from other artists.

But if BTS secures a nomination, the group will become one of the most-nominated acts of all time in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category. It was previously nominated for the prestigious award three times.

The first was in 2020 with their song "Dynamite," and the second came the year after for "Butter." The KPOP group was recently nominated alongside Coldplay for their collaboration "My Universe" last year, said Forbes.
