Pop music icon Madonna has spoken about her hospitalization for the first time after she was taken to intensive care due to an alleged "bacterial infection."

On social media, she told fans she is now "on the road to recovery" and would have to "focus" on her health. She also thanked her fans for their "positive energy" during the time of her hospital stay.

"I assure you, I'll be back with you as soon as I can!" she wrote on Twitter.

In addition, the Daily Mail has published exclusive photos and videos of the pop star talking to another person outside a New York coffee shop.

Future Plans Post-Hospital

The 64-year-old pop star added her current plan was to reschedule her upcoming North American concerts and begin her Celebration Tour in the UK in October.

Madonna thought of her children when she woke up in the hospital, as well as how to give back to her fans who have already bought tickets for her tour. "I...didn't want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show. I hate to disappoint anyone," she added.

What Happened?

According to Madonna's talent manager Guy Oseary, The Queen of Pop, as Madonna was called, was taken to hospital after developing a serious bacterial infection, forcing her to stay in hospital for several days.

Aside from the latest health scare, Madonna underwent hip replacement surgery in 2020 after a knee injury the year before, which she revealed was the reason why she was limping during her 2019 Madame X tour.
