Elon Musk has been subpoenaed by the United States (US) Virgin Islands, which seeks documents for the government lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase & Co. The suit alleges that the giant bank enabled and benefited from the sexual abuses of sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein.

A recent court filing sheds light on the subpoena issued to the ultra-billionaire Tesla and SpaceX Chief Executive (CEO) last month.

WASHINGTON, DC - MARCH 09: Elon Musk, founder and chief engineer of SpaceX speaks at the 2020 Satellite Conference and Exhibition March 9, 2020 in Washington, DC.

It seems like Musk cannot catch a break from making headlines. But as per CNN, the subpoena from the US Virgin Islands does not implicate the tech mogul in any involvement in the sex trafficking operation of Epstein.

Instead, it only shows that the billionaire is an ultra-rich guy. Thus, Epstein might have introduced the entrepreneur to the giant JPMorgan Chase, CNN notes.

According to CNBC, a recent court filing shows that the Virgin Islands has failed to serve the Tesla boss the subpoena issued to him. The United States District Court for the Southern District of New York court filing reveals that they need help getting the exact address of the multi-billionaire. And as such, they could have been more successful in serving Musk with the subpoena.

The filing discloses, "The Government contacted Mr. Musk's counsel via email to ask if he would be authorized to accept service on Mr. Musk's behalf in this matter." However, the paperwork notes that they have yet to get a response.

Reuters also notes that the US territory's subpoena did not request Musk to provide a sworn testimony for the lawsuit. Instead, it seeks to obtain some documents.

The subpoena requested the SpaceX boss to provide all communications between him and JPMorgan. On top of that, it also seeks to understand the role of the disgraced finances in managing the finances of the tech billionaire.

Besides these documents, the subpoena also asks for documents that cover the fees paid to the late sex trafficker or JPMorgan. Not to mention that it also requests any paperwork related to the sex trafficking ring.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JULY 14: A person walks past the JP Morgan Chase headquarters building on Madison Avenue on July 14, 2022 in New York City.

The infamous financier Epstein died last 2019 in his Manhattan jail cell by suicide amid his trial for sex trafficking charges. The federal charges accused him of running a sex trafficking ring at his two properties, his Palm Beach estate and Manhattan mansion. The suit also alleges that the late sexual trafficker paid underaged girls for sexual intercourse.

And last year, the US Virgin Islands took the JPMorgan Chase to court. The lawsuit raises accusations that the giant bank gained financially from the sex trafficking operation.

Reuters notes that Musk has previously denied that Epstein advised him or his EV maker, Tesla.
