MADRID, SPAIN - FEBRUARY 08: Actor Tom Holland (C) attends 'Uncharted' premiere at the Tres60 studios on February 08, 2022 in Madrid, Spain.

As per Entertainment News, the Spider-Man actor confirmed that he has been sober for more than a year, or twelve months and four months, to be exact, while he spoke about the filming of 'The Crowded Room.'

While Holland failed to elaborate on how he attained sobriety for that long, he says he has been working on his mental health. The British star highlights that "recognizing triggers," which includes social media, has helped him overcome his problem.

The Spider-Man star emphasized that social media ends up stressing him out. It is worth noting that he has previously stepped back from using his social networks. BuzzFeed News reports that the actor announced a social media hiatus last August 2022 as he attempted to focus on his mental health.

The 26-year-old star says that the things he reads online are ruining his overall mental health. And as such, he has decided to delete his social media apps.

He made his announcement in an Instagram video, addressing the stigma against mental health. The actor reminds everyone that seeking help should not be something that we should be ashamed of.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - FEBRUARY 17: Actor Tom Holland visits the SiriusXM Studios on February 17, 2022 in New York City.

According to Variety, Holland is starring in an upcoming crime thriller show, 'The Crowded Room,' as Danny Sullivan, a man who was arrested back in 1979 for his involvement in the Rockefeller Center shooting incident.

The series is based on real life, centering on the crimes of Billy Milligan, the first person the court acquitted of a crime due to a dissociative identity disorder diagnosis.

However, while Holland was shooting the film, he recalls that he had experienced a meltdown. In his interview with Entertainment Weekly, he admits that the filming of the upcoming Apple TV+ crime thriller triggered a "bit of a meltdown at home," wherein he thought of shaving his head to step out of the shoes of his character. The 26-year-old actor notes, "It was unlike anything [I have] ever experienced before."

'The Crowded Room,' which Holland stars in, premieres on Apple TV+ on June 9.
