Let's take a closer look at the possible winners and who will present them in this year's Oscar Awards 2023.

The Oscar Awards 2023 will line up all the possible winners in categories and everything that culminates in this Hollywood event. Most expected is who gets the most award of all entrants participating this awards season.

Oscar Awards 2023

This year's ceremony is an eccentric event where Academy members will choose the best picture of the year after many events before it. Among those nominated are several films like All Quiet on the Western Front and The Banshees of Inisherin in the lineup, as reported by BBC.

Front runners are Austin Butler, Brendan Fraser, Cate Blanchett, and Michelle Yeoh, in several categories in the awards. In 2023 this awards season is a cliffhanger compared to other years, with three out of four categories that will be very close, noted Yahoo News.

All are winners in other awards like the SAG Awards, Baftas, and Golden Globes that have divided who is the ultimate winner in the Oscars.

Who Will Host the Oscars 2023?

The 95th Academy Awards ceremony hosting duties will be Jimmy Kimmel at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. This will be the third outing for the talk show host for the Oscars, after the most recent one at the 2018 event. He is most well remembered for the fiasco of 2017 after a wrong announcement of who won the best picture led to confusion, cited by the Hollywood Reporter.

During a media call at the Dolby last Wednesday, Kimmel poked fun at the change of carpet color from 1960. He said about the slapping at previous year's Oscars show any untoward happening materialize.

This year's red carpet has changed for the first time from red to champagne. The color change is pragmatic and would work for either day or night settings.

When asked whether there would be any trouble this year, Kimmel said, "I certainly hope not. But if there is, I think the decision to go with a champagne carpet rather than a red carpet shows how confident we are that no blood will be shed."

Who Will Present the Awards?

For the longest time, the four awardees of the previous Oscars will present the following year's winners. However, only three will be back this 2023, including Jessica Chastain, Ariana DeBose, and Troy Kotsur, minus Will Smith, due to being banned from attending the ceremony for ten years.

Other presenters are Harrison Ford, Nicole Kidman, Samuel Jackson, and Dwayne Johnson, with other stellar actors. Invited to present is Halle Berry, who is the only non-Caucasian woman to win as best actress. This year Michelle Yeoh could be the second one to win best actress at the Oscars.

Other actors to present on the podium will be Paul Dano, Andrew Garfield, Cara Delevingne, and others on the itinerary. Joining them are Antonio Banderas, Elizabeth Banks, Hugh Grant, and Salma Hayek Pinault, with others for 2023.

Top Choice for Oscars 2023

It is an eclectic choice due to all contenders winning other awards, but Ke Huy Quan is expected to get the best supporting actor award. But the competition for best actor is between Brendan Fraser (The Whale) and Austin Butler (Elvis), who received awards for their performances in different award-giving bodies. A close match for best actress is between Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All At Once) and Cate Blanchett (Tár) for their respective films.

Three are nominated for best supporting actress are Angela Bassett for Wakanda Forever, Kerry Condon for The Banshees of Inisherin, and Jamie Lee Curtis for Everything Everywhere All At Once.

The Oscar Awards 2023 can be watched live in the US on the ABC network. The awards are scheduled to be handed out for over three hours, but the Oscar Awards often runs late by at least 30 minutes, almost every year.
