Serial Killer Allegedly Slays Convicted Pedophile in Cell

Convicted serial killer Ramon Escobar kills a convicted pedophile sharing a cell with him in a California prison. On February 24, in North Kern State Prison in Kern County, they found the victim lifeless after the deadly assault inside the jail cell.

Serial Killer Kills Pedophile

Escobar, 51, is known as a serial killer in LA notorious for beating his victims to a pulp with a baseball bat. He allegedly killed his cellmate, Juan Villanueva, 53, who is serving life for sexually assaulting a minor under 14, mentioned the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, as reported by Meaww.

Based on details released, the victim was discovered unconscious before 9 am, even with attempts to revive him. The prison bosses said that Villanueva was declared dead at the prison medical center. Escobar is in restrictive housing while he is the main suspect in Villanueva's death.

The instances of the killing are under investigation by the prison regarding the death of the pedophile. Authorities disclosed that no conclusions would be considered until examination by the Kern County coroner, noted CBS News.

Cellmate Become Another of Escobar's Victims

During his trial on August 2018, the suspect was being tried for the double murders of Rogelio Escobar, 65, and Dina Escobar, 61. He was sentenced to life with no parole while he was on zoom trial in Los Angeles County, not contesting the verdict. He added it was his fault when a plea was considered in his aunt's death, which he refused, citing ABC 10.

Escobar Left Trail of Murders

California investigators in September 2018 were on his trail after the suspect was arrested as the person of interest connected with several murders and violent crimes in LA. Kim Ogg, one of the district attorneys of Harris County involved in the case, commented on the accused, stating that Escobar had killed without a thought. He killed anyone without hesitation, from total strangers even his family members.

The District Attorney did not hold back his thoughts on how the suspect conducted the killings, indicating that dealing death via choking and beating his victims to a pulp with blunt objects several times. Ogg added that the suspect did not show mercy to his victims, per ABC13.

Disclosures about the convicted killer who perpetrated such grisly and violent murder also what motivations he had. The suspect was originally from El Salvador, where the football war caused him an impoverished childhood. He later made his way to the United States in the Middle 1980s but was found by ICE agents in 1988 and deported in February of the same year.

Another attempt to enter illegally was successful during the early part of the 1990s, which led to living in Houston, Texas. He stayed with relatives who were residing in the US at that time. From 1992 until 2018, he was arrested for burglary, assault, and trespassing, as the charges mentioned by LAist.
