Caretaker Beats to Death 4-year-old Oklahoma Girl

The 4-year-old girl, Athena Brownfield, was killed in Arizona by those acting as her guardians, per Crime Online.

The corpse of the missing Oklahoma girl has been discovered where her caretaker buried her remains. Authorities in Oklahoma found the remains of a child in an area they were searching for 4-year-old Athena Brownfield, whose caregiver was charged with her murder last week.

Sources say that the girl had been gone since January 11, after one mail carrier saw her sister, five years old, outside the house of Ivon and Alysia Adams in Cyril. Investigator was looking for Athena's remains but was not found until one of the caregivers finally cracked and told them where they buried the child.

Ivon Adams, the suspect who beat the young girl to death, went to a former property in another town in an attempt to hide the brutal murder of the young victim, states Fox 10 News.

Based on the information on the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation Authorized Facebook page, which informed the remains would be sent to the state medical examiner's office in Oklahoma City to identify the cadaver, in the short statement released by the OSBI that says if the remains are that of Athena.

Last Monday, the agency informed that the search for the missing 4-year-old had become a recovery of the victim's body.

Suspect Tried To Hide Girl's Remains

Details disclosed that Alysia got apprehended last Thursday in Oklahoma, and her partner Ivon got caught by police several hours later in Phoenix, Arizona. The duo was charged with child neglect, and only the man was charged with killing the child.

Information from court documents revealed that Alysia informed the investigator how her partner killed Athena on December 25, very brutally. So much so that the girl stopped breathing with her eyes unresponsive.

The man alleged had put the helpless girl on the ground and punched her chest three times again, which left her motionless, told the woman. This showed that Ivon exhibited excess brutality toward the defenseless girl.

She adds that Ivon had taken the corpse and dug a grave close to the fence line in their former home in Rush Springs, only 15 miles from Cyril, the scene of the murder. Her partner took the girl's corpse to the location at 1 am on December 26. When he returned, he said her grave was marked on the Rush Springs property by a broken branch.

Last week the accused child-killer said he wanted to get back to Oklahoma and passed an extradition hearing to fight it. But he is still kept in a Maricopa County jail as of this report, while Alysia is incarcerated in Caddo County in Oklahoma.

More info released by the OSBI noted there is no specified relation between the girls and the couple. The biological mom had left the two sisters about two years back, but the Oklahoma girl's natural parents are cooperating in the case.
