Canada: 10 Killed, 15 Injured in Multiple Stabbing Attacks, Suspects Identified

In two isolated Canadian villages on Sunday, stabbings left ten people dead and more than a dozen others injured, according to police, who then began a manhunt for two suspects spanning three provinces.

After many people were stabbed in the James Smith Cree Nation and Weldon, Saskatchewan, the Melfort RCMP issued a dangerous person advisory for the entire province.

At a press conference held at 3:40 CT, the RCMP said that they had discovered 10 bodies and that at least 15 other persons had been taken to hospitals. In Weldon and James Smith Cree Nation, according to the RCMP, 13 incident locations were located.

Suspects Remain at Large Following Deadly Stabbing ok Spree in Canada

The two suspects, Damien Sanderson and Myles Sanderson may have been traveling in the Arcola Avenue area of Regina, according to a tip received by the RCMP. The individuals, in accordance with Regina Police, were spotted around 11:20 am.

At 7:12 am, an RCMP notice was initially sent out and several updates since then. A black Nissan Rogue with the Saskatchewan license plate 119 MPI is thought to be driven by two male suspects. The RCMP has extended the alert to the entire province since the suspects may have access to a vehicle.

Blackmore claimed that the suspects had also requested that Manitoba and Alberta be added to the notice because they were still at large. Damien Sanderson, who is 31 years old, is 5' 7" tall, 155 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes.

Myles Sanderson is a 30-year-old man that weighs 240 pounds, stands 6 feet 1 inch tall, and has brown eyes and hair. At the news conference, Blackmore stated that it is yet unknown how the suspects are connected.

According to Blackmore, the location and direction of the suspects' travel are unclear, but everyone in Saskatchewan needs to be on guard because this is one of the biggest and most important occurrences they have witnessed recently, as per CBC.

Canada Authorities Tighten Public Safety

"We don't know where they are or where they are going. This is the reason why everyone in the province needs to be on guard. Do not approach the suspects or their vehicle; instead, leave the location right once and dial 911," Blackmore advised the media.

Diane Shier, a resident of Weldon, claimed that she observed emergency personnel on Sunday when she was in her garden. She informed the Toronto Star that she had received news that her elderly neighbor, who shared a home with his grandson, had died.

Two medical helicopters from Saskatoon and one from Regina were among the at least three that were sent to help with first aid. At the scene of one of the stabbings, the Saskatoon crew triaged the wounded, while a second brought a doctor to help direct the response.

One patient was transported by land ambulance to a hospital in Saskatoon, while at least three people were flown to hospitals for treatment. As a result of an influx of casualties, the Saskatchewan Health Authority has issued a need for additional employees, according to Anne Lindemann, a spokesman for the organization.

The stabbings happened as football supporters gathered in Regina for a sold-out Labor Day game between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League. According to a press release from the Regina Police Service, extra resources have been deployed for public safety around the city, including the football game at Mosaic Stadium, BBC reported.
