Sexy Crabtree Name Change: Ohio Woman Legally Switches from Sheila to Sexy With Teenage Daughters' Support

An Ohio woman has successfully changed her name from Sheila to Sexy.

The 41-year-old Pataskala resident formerly known as Sheila Ranea Crabtree always despised her first name.

"I absolutely hate it," Crabtree said of her given name. "I think it's really ugly."

Crabtree told the Columbus Dispatch she desired a moniker that would mirror her free-spirited nature, and decided to legally change her name to Sexy.

Central Ohio Judge Robert Hoover gave his rubber stamp of approval for Crabtree's request on Tuesday, after the mother referred to her name as "the ugliest one out there."

"That's all I needed, to get rid of that ugly name - thankfully I'm rid of it for good!" she told the Dispatch.

When asked why she chose the name Sexy, Crabtree said her daily attire coincided with the word's connotations.

"I wear Victoria's Secret clothes all the time," Crabtree stated. "I was like, 'Shoot, I'll just go for Sexy.'"

The judge approved Crabtree's name change after she insisted her husband and daughters supported her decision to become Sexy.

Judge Hoover has turned down past requests for name changes such as Tasmanian Devil and Winnie Pooh. He did, however, approve one woman's petition to be named StoneKeep TalkingTree last year.
