A Philadelphia man whose family's port-a-potty joke left him paralyzed from the shoulders down has finalized a settlement for $5 million.
According to a report from the Associated Press, Donald Adams III has put his lawsuit to rest.
The Philadelphia resident was reportedly on a camping trip with two members of his family when they backed their track into a portable toilet with Adams inside.
They tried barricading him as a prank, then banged on it and rattled it to scare him. Suddenly, Adams' cousins-in-law tipped the entire toilet over, causing Adams to land on his neck inside the toilet.
The horrific accident left Adams a quadriplegic, according to AP.
Together with his wife, Adams took the case to court, suing the two relatives and the toilet manufacturer.
Adams also filed suit with the toilet installer, saying that the port-a-potty was haphazardly stuck on an incline.
In their cases, the defendants stated the cousins-in-law were to blame for Adams' injuries.
