New Twitter App for Google Glass in the Works?

While excitement, speculation, and anticipation surround the new innovative eyewear from Google, entitled Google Glass, many are waiting for announcements concerning what specific apps will appear for the device.

According to PCMag.com, the New York Times, Evernote, and Gmail apps have already been announced.

With way social media now controls the world, the next logical step would be to create an app for social networking. According to TechCrunch.com, a Twitter app may be in the works.

A photo was tweeted by the account under the twitter handle @MagroothMudler, showing what appears to be some type of fruit tree. The interesting portion of the tweet is not the photo but the hashtag above the photo’s link which reads “#throughglass.” Providing even more of a hint is the three words next to the date of the photo which read “Twitter for Glass.” TechCrunch.com, shows the photo retweeted by Jonathan Gottfried whose twitter handle is @jonmarkgo.

The tweet was most likely a mistake as the bio for @MagroothMudler reads “I tweet a tweet accidentally #throughglass and I mess up.” The account seems to be fairly new or simply unpopular since it only has six followers and is only following one person.

The photo has not been deleted off of the account but, the “Twitter for Glass” portion denoting where the photo came from is no longer there. Twitter did not immediately respond for comment.

Consumers can be confident that even if @MargroothMudler let information about a possible new Glass-specific Twitter app slip, the secret won’t come as a huge shock to anyone. When Glass Collective was announced in early April, John Doerr of Kleiner Perkins said Twitter had been thinking about developing a glass specific app.

However, in today’s world if you are going to create any type of mobile device, compatibility with Twitter and Facebook, or simply having a Twitter and Facebook app, is pretty much a necessity.
