Rockstar Games' gigantic hit of 2013 "Grand Theft Auto V" has been breaking sales records since it was released at the end of last year. With it's online multiplayer experience still in full-swing with console gamers, those who prefer to do their gaming on the PC have been clamoring to know when and if the game will be coming out with a PC version. Now, new leaks from Amazon indicate that "Grant Theft Auto V" will be coming out with a computer gamer version in the very near future.
According to IGN, regional sites Amazon Germany and Amazon France both briefly listed the game as being available for PC. Both sites almost immediately took down the listing and no release date was listed during the time that it was up. However, many are claiming that this is evidence that a PC version of the game is on its way to the retailer. The news comes off of information found previously this week that indicates a bug log for the PC version of the game.
IGN reports, this isn't the first time Amazon France has listed the game for PC. It did so last year around this time. This could easily be another mistake or, it could be a leak detailing the game's availability before publishers were ready to reveal the news. Some of Amazon's regional sites have a history of making such a mistake. To date, IGN reports Amazon France's list of blunders similar to this include "Call of Duty: Black Ops II," the "Killzone" trilogy and the European-only "Assassin's Creed" anthology.
Currently, "Grand Theft Auto V" is only available for console gamers who use either the Xbox or the PlayStation. Rumors began circulating in October of 2013 that the game would come to PC. It was at that time that Intel's Marketing Director Chris Silva predicted that GTA V was PC-bound. A few days later, an anonymous source confirmed the news, according to more reports from the gaming news website.
Fans are clearly hoping for a GTA V for PC game as an online petition for just that gained 600,000 signatures as of Oct. 18. For reference, it's worth noting that the game's predecessor, "Grand Theft Auto IV" took eight months before a PC version was made available. The only question now is whether or not the newest game in Rockstar's franchise will follow the same path.
