A drive-by shooting in Tampa on Sunday has left one man dead and his brother in serious condition.
The two men were reportedly throwing a football outside of a home at Rome Avenue and Main Street in Tampa, Fla. this weekend, according to a report by the Tampa Bay Times. Police said the two men, who were probably in their 30s, didn't live at the complex, but were visiting for a family dinner. A white car, potentially a Nissan, rolled by at about 12:30 p.m. and opened fire with "no regard for any civilians," Lt. Kimberly Plourde-Torres told the Times.
"They were outside with other individuals, including children," Plourde-Torres said.
Authorities were unsure how many times each of the victims were hit, but police believed the shooting was not random, and occurred due to a long-standing issue.
Police were still tallying up the number of shell casings they found in the area by Sunday night, in hopes of finding out how many rounds were shot.
When law enforcement officials arrived at the scene of the shooting, two people were tending to the fallen brothers. The men were rushed to nearby hospitals, where one man was pronounced dead on arrival.
The other man reportedly remains in serious condition, the Times reported.
