"The Big Bang Theory" renewal is something fans have been dying to hear about and now CBS CEO Leslie Moonves has said that fans would hear the announcement soon. He also spoke highly of the proposed Sheldon prequel, saying it would probably follow "The Big Bang Theory."

"The Big Bang Theory" renewal just received a thumbs up from CBS CEO Leslie Moonves when he said that the network was on the two-yard line for closing a deal for the two-season renewal of the show, TV Series Finale claimed. He said that he suspected viewers would hear the announcement soon. He had the same views about the Sheldon prequel as well and Moonves was quite ecstatic about the spin-off.

Referring to it as "Little Sheldon," he said that "The Big Bang Theory" spin-off makes for a terrific script. He was delighted at the prospect of imagining Sheldon as a 10-year-old boy growing up in Texas in a very right-wing family. A family that is not used to having a 10-year-old genius living with them. What is more, Moonves hinted that the prequel could follow "The Big Bang Theory," Variety has learned.

Notably, "The Big Bang Theory" renewal has been a talking point among fans of late as Season 10 is currently on air and has already moved past the midway mark. However, CBS is yet to make a formal announcement regarding Season 11. It has been stalled as the negotiations with the cast members are still on but there are bright chances of the same getting through.

As for the Sheldon prequel, it is also waiting for an announcement but the show is very much in progress and would go on floors very soon. Some days back it came to the fore that Iain Armitage, the child actor of "Big Little Lies" fame has been finalized to play the young Sheldon. Not only this, Zoe Perry is also said to have been roped in to play his mother Mary.
