Could Taylor Swift be calling The Big Apple home?
The country-turned pop singer was spotted Wednesday shopping for an apartment in Manhattan's Greenwich Village, reports say.
According to the New York Daily News' Confidenti@l, Swift viewed several apartments in the downtown area, including a $12 million Leroy Street townhouse that was once owned by "West Side Story" writer Arthur Laurents. Swift, 24 wasn't alone when she toured the four-bedroom apartment.
"She was well dressed and seemed in good spirits," an informant told Confidenti@l, "She was being driven around with this good-looking guy who looked about her age."
But the unknown man is said to be Swift's 21-year-old brother, Austin, who attends the University of Notre Dame, the Daily Mail reported. The two were seen shopping together on Thursday.
The "I Knew You Were Trouble" singer also looked at another four-bedroom apartment at 22 Charlton St., which is marketed for $6.25 million, Confidenti@l reported. The apartment, dating back to the 1820s, was built by real estate mogul John Jacob Astor.
Swift, who made over $55 million in 2013, already has homes in Beverly Hills, Rhode Island, and a penthouse in Nashville. According to Entertainmentwise, the singer also told Hello! magazine in December she is looking for a house in the United Kingdom.
The Leroy Street home would be a prime piece of real estate for Swift. The 4,400-square-foot townhouse, dating back to the 1850s, is around the corner from Robert De Niro's former residence and the home that was used as the outside of the Huxtable residence on "The Cosby Show," Confidenti@l reported.
"Anywhere I spend a considerable amount of time, I think about maybe getting a place," Swift told The Sun newspaper, according to Entertainmentwise. "But it would have to be the perfect place."
