Google keeps experimenting with new features and improves the user interface of all of its apps and services. We have the current Play Store UI for about a year. But now, it has been discovered that UI changes to the Google Play Store have been appearing on some user's devices.

Users reported that they see some dramatic changes to the Google Play Store. Particularly about the store's colour scheme and overall layout. Screenshots of the upcoming new version of Play Store was first taken from readers of Android Police.

In the update, the "Install" button is now bigger than before and the number of downloads, plus the app ratings are a lot more noticeable. Next is the category, to which an app belongs to, is now located under the app's description and is more towards centre. The latest Google Play Store is now comes in a darker shade of green.

Screenshots shows that the apps which are situated on the main Play Store page are a bit smaller and the second set of screenshots state that the "More Information" page has been relocated and the Update button, which was removed through the Android 7.1 update, is also back.

Google Play Store has also changed the location of the app carousel, in the update, from its earlier position i.e. next to the search bar. Now the carousel is located below the search bar.  Also the featured apps in the scroll now come with a card-like layout.

Phone Arena has reported that the latest UI has appeared on a Nexus 6P running Android 7.1.1.

It seems that Google is still testing out the new user interface for a small number of users as well as for some apps on the Play Store. It is also possible that these changes will be rolled out widely very soon.

Google has teased the first new look of the Play Store when it published a video on YouTube on how to get started on using its new Pixel smartphones. And the recently published screenshots on website exactly match with what the Play Store looked like on Google's video.

Currently Google is in the process of revamping its Play Store and the updated version may soon be available to all the users.
