Rapper Formerly Linked To 50 Cent's G-Unit Gunned Down In Queens

A rapper who was once associated with 50 Cent's G-Unit was shot and killed in Queens on Friday, the New York Daily News reported.

Jamal Green, whose rapper name was Mazaradi Fox, was in his white Nissan SUV with three other passengers on Farmers Boulevard and 134th Avenue. The gunman, wearing a black ski mask, pulled up next to the vehicle and began shooting.

Police said Green staggered out of the SUV and made it to a driveway before he fell to the ground, the Daily News reported. The gunman was reportedly able to flee the scene in a Hyundai sedan.

Green was just released from a two-year prison sentence on Dec. 20. He was 42.

One of the passengers, a woman in her 20s believed to be Green's daughter, was scraped in the neck, the Daily News reported. She was taken to Jamaica Hospital along with the other passengers, a 22-year old man with an arm injury, and a 21-year-old man shot in the shoulder and neck. He is in critical condition, the Daily News reported.

Green was a long-time friend of rapper 50 Cent, and was said to be a part of his G-Unit group. A spokesman from 50 Cent's record company told the Daily News that Green did not sign with G-Unit.

According to the website thisis50.com, Green separated from G-Unit and went on to start his own label, Dumout, the Daily News reported.

"Saddened by the news of Mazaradi's tragic passing," 50 Cent tweeted Friday. "My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends."

Green said during a prison interview in 2013 that he and 50 Cent were still friends, the Daily News reported.

"We going to be homeboys till we're both buried I guess. That's my man forever," Green told DJ Self, according to the Daily News.

Others also expressed their condolences over twitter.

"They say jail keeps some brothers alive," @Shamoneyxl tweeted Friday. "He just came home 10 days ago and now he gone. RIP MAZARADI FOX."

Cops were still searching for the Hyundai sedan as of Friday night, the Daily News reported.
