The real life, meth-dealing Walter White was sentenced to 12 years in prison on Monday.

White, 53, was caught with 32 and-a-half pounds of meth, according to multiple reports.  "U.S. District Judge Donald Molloy sentenced [White] to nine years for possession of meth for distribution followed by three-and-a-half years on weapons charges," according to GreatFallsTribune.com.

"Thirty two-and-a-half pounds of methamphetamine coupled with guns and violence is about as serious as you can get," the judge told the court.

The Billings Gazette reports authorities found about $10,000 worth of meth in his home, along with two handguns and about $15,000 in cash.  White also got into an altercation with his son Brandon White.  White's son ended up shooting him over a drug debt.

"White apologized and said meth dealing wasn't in his character but that he got addicted. When he tried to get out of it, suppliers threatened him,"  The Billings Gazette reports.  "White pleaded guilty to possession of meth for distribution and to possessing two firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking. The judge dismissed a third conspiracy count as part of a plea agreement."

White received the drugs from a convicted dealer Tomas Alvarado, of Turlock, Calif., according to GreatFallsTribune.com.  Alvarado was sentenced to 30 years in prison for his role in the drug ring.

"White is among a number of defendants convicted in a trafficking ring that brought the highly addictive drug to Billings and to the Bakken oil fields for distribution beginning last year," according The Billings Gazette.

White shares the name of the fictional character Walter White of the show "Breaking Bad".  Fictional White was a high school chemistry teacher turned meth cooker and dealer.

Actor Bryan Cranston played the role of the fictional White.  The critically acclaimed show ended after five seasons, totaling 62 episodes from 2008 to 2013.
