Kelly Rowland is usually very private about her personal life but the 32-year-old singer opened up about her recent engagement to boyfriend and manager Tim Witherspoon on "The Queen Latifah Show" airing Wednesday, Dec. 18, Access Hollywood reports.

"He put a ring on it," she said as she flashed the diamond ring. "It's been a while. We've kept it very, very low - for years, to be completely honest."

The "Motivation" singer told Queen Latifah that Witherspoon popped the question via Skype while she was in Bulgaria.

"He asked me first on Skype," she said. "And I was like, 'We're so far away from each other.'"

"But it was so late, I remember we were both just kinda like, honestly, just staring at each other," she continued. "And he asked me, and it was just that simple to say yes. I was like, 'I got my best friend to ride through life with.' He really is my best friend."

It's been rumored that Rowland has been engaged since at least November. Rumors started circulating after she made an Instagram video wishing her friend's child a happy birthday. Towards the end of the video Rowland blew the child a kiss inadvertently flashing a sparkly diamond ring.

Sources told Bossip that Rowland and Witherspoon have been dating for about four years but wanted to keep their romance out of the spotlight. There are not many pictures of the couple together even though the Daily Mail reports that they were recently spotted getting matching tattoos.

In September the former Destiny's Child member told E! News that she wasn't ready to settle down yet but was definitely looking forward to the day she would become a wife.

"I do want kids, I do want to be married," she said. "I want one kid."
