The Dallas Cowboys 2015 season was a huge disappointment as the team went from NFC East division title winners in 2014 to finishing in last place with a 4-12 record. Injuries were clearly a major factor in Dallas' down season as they lost franchise quarterback Tony Romo twice to a broken collarbone.

While many expect the Cowboys to land their future franchise quarterback in the upcoming 2016 NFL Draft, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has made it known that he believes Romo will be their quarterback for the next four to five seasons. The quarterback already underwent surgery on his clavicle March 8, and Cowboys fans across the country are excited to see him back in uniform later this year.

Romo announced on Twitter this morning that his "surgery has healed up nicely," and that he is "looking forward to OTA's and a full offseason." Romo, who turns 36 years old April 21, is considered one of the elite quarterbacks in the game when healthy.

In 2014, Romo had arguably the best season in his career, completing a career-high 69.9 percent of his passes for 3,705 yards with 34 touchdowns to nine interceptions. The Cowboys have made some significant moves in free agency to bolster both the offensive and defensive side of the ball, including signing former Washington Redskins running back Alfred Morris to a two-year contract.

The move gives Dallas depth at the running back position and, with arguably one of the best offensive lines in the NFL, the Cowboys will look to return to form in 2016. The NFC East was one of the weakest divisions during the 2015 season, as Washington claimed the division title with a 9-7 record, and it is not implausible to think the Cowboys could return to the top of the division next season.

Look for the Cowboys to be extra cautious with Romo's return. It would not be surprising if the team decided to limit his play, especially in preseason games, as they know his health is crucial to their success next season. The Cowboys are looking to return to the top of the NFC East next season, and with their star quarterback returning healthy, Dallas will surely be in the conversation for the 2016 NFL playoffs.
